The Buzz

We finally did it. Tried to give Luke a haircut, totally messed it up, and exhibit A is now what he gets. The Buzz Cut. It was only a matter of time with that mop of hair growing so fast! Pretty darn cute if you ask me.
after
 before
and the Lloyd Christmas haircut he ended out with after Chris and I attempted it. Poor kid. This picture doesn't explain how bad it was.

this sort of gives you a better idea. we cut the bangs WAY too short. learned our lesson for next time!

he got rewarded by going in the hot tub after we cut it. both times.
Luke, you're a handsome little devil. So glad we can see your face again!

My Name Is Luke

He now says his name

and says cheese for the camera

5 weeker

5 weeks old and chunking right up! We found some serious rashes in Colbie's neck the other day, hidden beneath mounds of rolls I didn't even know she had! It was so raw it even bled when we wiped the creases. Poor girl. And the next day I found a sticker hidden in one of her neck rolls as well and had to pull it off. Ha!!
(I think she looks like her Grandma Lolo & Uncle Jake)
You sure are a cute little chunk, Colbie.
Oh, and don't mind her skin-head. Rubbed all the hair off the sides or her head somehow. Nice look for her!

Thought I should also note that a few nights ago Colbie went 10 hours without eating. Fed her at 9:30pm and she didn't eat again until 8:30am. And she slept about 9 of those hours. This has never happened before, but was so awesome wanted to write it down. We love you baby girl.

Baby's Room

Well, it isn't much, but figured I'd better document before I never do. I actually bought Colbie bedding (which I never did for Luke) and we painted her room. And actually have a few pictures on the wall, it's a miracle. Your daddy did a perfect painting job for you Colbie Lou!

And here's a few more of the finished product:
Colbie gets the honor of inheriting my beloved bunny, that I slept with every night since 7th grade up until the time I got married. And by the way Becky, yours is the ugly bunny...

Here are some of the painting/taping festivities. Luke enjoyed himself running around and playing with the tape.

Thanks for all your hard work, Dad! It looks terrific.

oh, and a shot of the closet

So happy you're finally here baby Colbie!

Pool Time

 Fun day over here.
The kids had a blast with Becky in the pool.
Baby Colbie was a good girl and relaxed on the towel for a while. Davey was inside sleeping in the swing, enjoying the peace and quiet.
Aunt Beck took one for the team today playing all the splashing games with the kids!
Tuck's awesome hair-do
And Aunt Cass took one for the team by getting Baby Davey's blowout all over her. These pictures don't do it justice...it was a good one. 30 minute clean up!

Happy 24th Julie!

Julie & Lane finished up their finals at BYU-I and got in there cars to head cross country to NY for the summer (and until Dec). But not before they came to see us, of course! We got to celebrate Julie's 24th Birthday together, which was really fun. She and Lane went to Rachelle's homecoming talk, stopped by Temple Square, ate a big steak dinner that Chris cooked for us, and then opened a few presents (with Luke's help, of course). It was a fun day for us, hopefully it was for Julie! We love you Julie and Lane. So glad you live close to us so we get to see you every once in a while. Hope you're having a blast in NY!!
Luke really loves Lane. Snuggles right up with him. Thanks for being a great Uncle!

What We Do...

Entertain kids on the playmat and in the bouncer...

Clean up LOTS of spit-up. Projectile in this case...
(apparently she thought it was funny)

Do LOTS of laundry and clean up constantly...

Enjoy a few moments when Luke isn't trying to hurt or 'love' his sister... even if she is crying...

Deal with plenty of crying...

And enjoy the times Colbie and Luke are both napping at the same time...
(she was bugged by the camera flash but I couldn't resist. too CUTE! 3 weeks old...)

Pretty much what we do is try to be happy and alive at the end of each day. And try to figure out how to get along with 2 kids, no double stroller and all the crying! It's been great so far though. Tiring, but terrific.
