Aunt Julie

Chris found out that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practices on Temple Square on Thursday nights so we thought we would go check it out last night. I'm pretty sure it was meant to be because I kid you not, as soon as we were walking through the gates, Sister Rathgeber and her companion were walking out. So we walked right into each other! Julie seems to be doing really great and her companion is the sweetest girl from Cancun, Mexico. It is awesome to see her so focused on missionary work right now, and it was so fun for her to meet baby Luke as well. Keep up the great work, Sister. You are beautiful. We love you so much!

"He is not here, but is risen"

We had a really special Easter this year. Yes, of course the Easter bunny came, but it was more than that. I got called as a Primary teacher 2 weeks ago so Easter Sunday was my first time teaching - of course on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Although I was nervous to teach the 8 years olds (don't ask), I felt so lucky that I got to study this really important lesson and have it on my mind all week. As infinitely important as Christ's atonement and resurrection is, for me, it brings on a new meaning now that Chris and I have started our own family. It is the greatest feeling knowing that no matter what happens we will always be a family, forever. Such happiness and hope comes from understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ - we feel very lucky to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

With that being said - here is what our day consisted of. Church, then checking out our easter baskets. The Easter Bunny hid mine (which was fun) so after I found mine hidden in the basement, turns out the Easter bunny got me a camcorder for my trip to Hawaii. So excited and can't wait to go and use it! Wish so bad the Easter bunny was coming with me to Hawaii....
Here are a few pics of Luke on his first Easter. Easter bunny brought him a few cool toys and some candy...
he was super excited...can't you tell...

After we did our own thing we all met at Amy & Scott's house for dinner. Thanks for always having us over you guys and being such great hosts! We ate some ham, hung out, then took some pictures. Alli and Derek came up to spend the day with us, too. So that was very fun.

5K

Well I ran my first 5K this past weekend. The Salt Lake Marathon was going on so there was also a 1/2 marathon and 5K option. Of course, I went with the 5k. I did it with my friends Becky, Danielle and Sheridan. I've only run 3 miles 2 times since I've had Luke (actually, who am I kidding, I haven't run 3 miles in about 12 months! Pathetic, I know!) so it's great to know that this mama's still got it :). It may have taken me 35 min but at least I finished! haha. Becky is 7 months pregnant and beat me! Good for you Beck! Danielle and Sheridan did awesome, too. Was a really fun morning.
Before
And after. Breakfast at Ruth's diner. Yum.

ROAD TRIP

Luke took his first road trip to St. George this past weekend to visit Papa Thompson (great Papa T, that is). Luke never ceases to amaze Chris and I. He hardly made a peep the whole way down or the entire way back! That would be 5 hours each way. He really outdid himself this time. It was so fun to stay at Preston's house, especially because Mike & Lou Ann were there visiting with us too.
Luke = 4th generation Thompson
Preston with Luke - he was so cute with him.

Luke just started standing like this a few days ago. Now he always wants to stand. Getting to be a big strong boy!
and a mighty cute one!
I love these pictures. Chris, you are the handsomest daddy.

It was conference weekend while we were there. Always love listening to our Prophets speak. Luke was a good boy and payed close attention, as you can see.

Luke with his mimi

and last but not least, Luke and mommy getting some fast food on the way home to SLC. Sound asleep and being the best baby we could ask for! It was such a fun trip. Luke, you did great on your first big outing.

JESSIE

Aunt Jessie came to visit us 2 weekends ago. And we want her to come back!! I'm so happy she could come out and meet Luke before he gets too big, and that she was willing to take the trip even though she has her own little girl coming out in 3 months. You look so beautiful Jess and really appreciate you leaving the 3 kiddies to come see us. I know it's probably really hard to be apart from them. We love you so much and had so much fun with you. As always.
Luke really loved Aunt Jess. So much that he did this while one her lap:
Haha, love this picture. Luke's like..."what'd I do???" Nothing a lot of wipes and a bath can't take care of...
Of course we had to stop by Cheesecake Factory, after all it was a special occasion having Jess visit. He was all fussy while we were waiting so Jess held Luke on her baby bump and he was sound asleep in seconds! She has the touch!! It was really funny...
Last but not least - me and the cuz. So glad we can stay so close even though we live so far. Life wouldn't be nearly as fun without you! We love you so much!
