good night

well, those are all the updates I have for now. I slept from 7pm to 10pm after work today because I was so tired...so that's why I am still up...blogging. way past my bedtime. time to get to sleep.

Jordanelle

We've had Mike and Lou Ann's boat for the last few months and finally had a chance to take it out this past weekend. Friends, family, great weather, good food, clean water (although a little choppy) = a terrific time. Jessica and Charlie came with us which was really fun. This trip was kind of 'ode to charlie' because he was so adorable in his life vest and loved being on the boat.

Baby Quinn even got her first chance on the boat at 4 weeks
old and loved it. We didn't hear a peep out of her the whole
time. We'll get you a life vest that fits better next time, Quinn :).

We met up with Becky and Jason who had 2 Sea Dews (is that what they're called?) so I got my first ride on one. They're actually really fun, more than I expected...
Fun day. Charlie, sorry for getting you all wet!

Birthday Boy

Steve, Chris's brother, turned 26 on Saturday so we celebrated at Tucanos Brazilian restaurant. It was really fun, first time I'd been there. Can't eat meat still (baby must be a vegetarian), so I had at it over at the salad bar. Here's a few pictures. Baby Quinn (4 weeks old) was such a trooper! And Avery was my buddy this night, always fun seeing the Coombs girls - can they be any cuter (yes, that means you too Amy)?!
4 weeks after she's had her baby. Doesn't Brittny look awesome!
Note to self, this shirt does nothing for the figure!

Haha, I love Quinn's face in this one. She's lovin life!
Cute girls. Lucy is ready to stir up trouble.

If You Could Hie To Kolob

This must be little baby's favorite church hymn because while the choir was singing in Sacrament meeting I felt him kicking a whole bunch all on his own for the first time - 8/15/10. Maybe he is going to be a music lover like his dad; hopefully he has a voice like Chris and not me!

We Have Movement

I was starting to get a little worried that I had seen the baby kicking in my tummy at 18 weeks but still had not felt any sort of movement at 22. I voiced a bit of concern to Chris. That night laying in bed Chris put his hand on my stomach to try and feel little Jr and we both felt a big kick right at the same time - 8/13/10. Needless to say, we were both really happy:). Makes it seem even more real and exciting, and no more need to worry. Can't wait to meet the little guy.

BABY TALK

So, the one piece of news we really wanted to share (and it's about time - I've really slacked on updating this blog) is that we have a baby on the way! Due date is Dec 15th. I am now about 20-21 weeks along and recently found out we are having a BOY...Chris and I couldn't be more excited! :) We are in the process of picking out names, which is harder than I realized. But, there's plenty of time for that. The pregnancy was rough the first couple of months for me, not easy breezy as I expected (hey, what did I know??), so I am humbled and amazed by mothers who have gone through this pregnancy process time after time. I am feeling much better now and can't wait for week 40 to get here already! Here are a few pics:

Thompson Reunion - Lake Shasta 2010

Every year the Thompsons have a family get together/reunion in Shasta Lake, northern California. They have a speedboat (as the kids like to call it), rent a houseboat and spend the week on the lake. It is such a terrific time, and different than anything my family does, so it was really fun for me to be a part of the festivities this year.
The lake is so beautiful - clean water (although it is a little chilly), trees everywhere, millions of stars at night. Perfect vacation spot.

Me and Britt - The two pregos. Brittny was only 1 month away from having her baby and she still came on the trip. What a trooper! I was only 10 weeks along at this point so I was defintely a little motion sick some of the time, but it was a small price to pay.

We took a fun little adventure hike with all of the kids on the hill behind where our boat was parked. There was a hiking trail already paved out so that was nice and made it easier. The butterflies were so crazy, they would just land right on you, not even afraid.

Abby and I encountered a baby rattlesnake on the trail. It was only about 1 foot long and we were still scared of it! Haha

We played lots of Boggle (even Carson learned how to play!), ate tin foil dinners, played with the kids, did Science experiments with Papa, and when all was said and done, slept under the stars at night. It wasa perfect trip. Thanks for everything Mike and Lou Ann, we had a great time.
